I’ve seen the movie 3 times in 3D and 1 in 2D, and I still wanna watch it again. This is an amazing come back from Disney, stunning in every way. It was too lovely and touching not to shed some tears seeing it. And of course, can’t help drawing a fan art about it too.
You can notice the lack of Maximus, that’d be my bad since there’s no more space for him, not that I don’t love him, I ADORE him, that’s the best horse from Disney ever. But may be next time, this time, give some love to Pascal.

Are you excited about TRON: Legacy? Well, I am really eager to see, and though I haven’t seen it yet, I still believe that Iwon’t regret my money for it.
Yes, this is my entry for SatelliteSoda’s contest on combining Marvel characters and TRON: Legacy concept. It’s almost deadline here (13/12/2010) so I had to draw in the speed of light.
Anyway, I have to say this is not that serious of an artwork since I re-used a sketch for a commission that I thought I’d throw away.
So, imagine if The Grid from TRON: Legacy needs an Avengers team? It’s AvenTRON for you. Hope you’ll like.
This is the first illustration for a personal project I’m working on that tells the story about Son Tinh/Tan Vien Son Thanh (character concept can be found here [link]) and his great fight against his enemy Thuy Tinh. This is one of the best god legends in our Vietnamese culture. Son Tinh represents the human will against the weather’s rages, especially when the storm season comes every year.
Since I’m planning on doing a lot of illustration for this project and will try to self publish a book that includes the character concepts, I hope you’ll understand the watermark, and I will try to keep the book as much in the dark as possible before I finish it (this is the first and only illustration that I’ve done by now). It’ll be published only in Vietnam. (If I finds out a way and I’ll consider an international version if it gets some success in Vietnam)

For 3 years, I’ve been doing posters for HTK Productions’ indie movies only to encourage them, since I found their movies have a lot of potential to be professional, especially in a country that movie industry is still in development.
This year, as the present champion of last year Aptech Media contest (2009) – HTK is now back with their new movie with zombie theme named Bad Teeth (răng xấu). And once again, I did my role in doing the poster.
This poster gave me a lot of interesting experiences in rendering my art work that I believe will change my work style forever.

Tan Vien Son Thanh – Son Tinh (English: Saint of the Tan Vien Moutain) is one of the most famous mythical characters of Vietnam. It is said that he was in a competition with the God of Sea – Thuy Tinh, in order to marry the King’s daughter – Mi Nuong. The King – Hung Vuong – made up a test to choose only one of them to be his son-in-law: Whoever come back with a nine-tusked-elephant, a nine-spured-cock and a nine-red maned-horse first, would get the princess.
Being the king of moutains and forrest, Son Tinh easily managed to come back with all the required beasts, and got the girl as his wife. A bit late, Thuy Tinh got extremely angry and came after Son Tinh right away, trying to get the girl from his competitors’ hands. He raised the sea, made heavy rains upon Son Tinh’s land, hoping they would kill his enemy. But to defense himself and his just-married wife, Son Tinh used the moutains to stop the raging water and pushed Thuy Tinh back to his lair at The Sea of the East. But Thuy Tinh never quit. He comes back every year, makes storms and rains and floods, destroy many many villages, but he always lose to the power of Son Tinh. The people of Vietnam started worshiping Son Tinh as their protector from then on every year when the storm season comes.
I tend to make the concept for all the characters in this story, including Thuy Tinh, Hung Vuong the King and Princess Mi Nuong. Hoping to come back asap.

Ok ok, I know, what the hell is superboy doing there???? Well I was out of idea who I was gonna draw to make a trio after those 2, and dang, this boy just popped up in my head and there he is before I know it.
I was doing a lot of American comic fan art and not much for games and Japanese manga. This is my first attemp at changing the topic a lil bit. May be I’ll do more, but will be more careful in choosing the characters, and yes, next time, background will be there.
This one was done when I can’t help myself doing something about Goku since he’s one of the best manga characters of all time, and it seems to be a sin not to do anything at all about him. May be we can call this a lil bit of a tribute to the legend – Akira Toriyama. And of course, Ryu has a combo that has something in common with Kamehameha that I totally black out about the name.
AND, yeah, not finished with the super long description, this is my first attemp ever on something new for my coloring style, from being too simple to something more interesting. I hope you guys like this as much as I do when I finished it.

Hà Nội là tác phẩm dự thi cuộc thi vẽ truyện tranh “Nét Rồng Thiêng”, được thực hiện bởi sự hợp tác giữa phần kể chuyện bởi “ông Tây nói tiếng Việt hay kinh điển” – Joe Ruelle hay còn được biết tới với nick name “Dâu Tây”, với phần thể hiện bằng hình ảnh qua nét vẽ của tớ – Splendid River và phần tô màu của anh bạn tớ – Vũ Văn Dũng.

Hà Nội là câu chuyện kể về những ấn tượng đặc biệt của Joe Tây với thủ đô nghìn năm văn hiến của Việt Nam trong những ngày đầu tiên bước chân tới Hà Nội và làm quen với nó, và tất nhiên, với một ông Tây nổi tiếng viết blog tiếng Việt hay kinh điển, hay ông Tây làm MC của Kết Nối Trẻ, thì những ấn tượng đó cũng hết sức “kinh điển”.

Theo mình đây là một phim có sự dẫn dắt tình tiết và diễn xuất hết sức hoàn hảo. Người xem bị dẫn dắt từ giả thiết này tới giả thiết khác để rồi lạc vào một mê cung do đạo diễn giăng ra, không lúc nào dám khẳng định đâu là sự thật, trở nên hoang mang, thắc mắc thậm chí là sợ hãi y như nhân vật Teddy trong phim. Những kết luận ở cuối phim tưởng như phủ nhận hoàn toàn những tình tiết ở đầu, nhưng thật ra lại càng khiến mọi thứ thêm rối rắm và khó để khẳng định sự thật. Và rồi khi khán giả tưởng như mình đã hiểu mọi chuyện, thì câu nói cuối cùng của Teddy lại khiến họ nhận ra họ vẫn chưa ra khỏi mê cung của câu chuyện.
Diễn xuất của các diễn viên phải nói là tuyệt vời, lời thoại trong phim không có câu nào thừa và hết sức giá trị, từ những nhân vật siêu phụ cho tới các nhân vật chính đều có những câu nói đắt giá ảnh hưởng rất lớn tới suy ngẫm của người xem phim cũng như nhân vật. Ví dụ như ông bác sĩ, anh bạn Chuck, Leonardo, ông bác sĩ tóc bạc, cô vợ, cô Rachel 1, Noyce…, tất cả đều diễn hoàn hảo góp phần khiến cho sự hoảng loạn, sợ hãi của bộ phim càng thêm hoàn hảo.
Thật ra, cái sự hẫng ở cuối phim tưởng chừng nhảm, nhưng lại rất giá trị, vì với một cái kết như vậy, bạn ko thể không tiếp tục suy nghĩ, ráp nối các tình tiết trong phim, suy luận, giả thiết…v…v… để tự cho mình một đáp án riêng và rồi nhận ra khi bạn đã đi cả quãng đường dài về tới nhà với bộ phim vẫn còn ám ảnh trong đầu. Nó hay hơn nhiều với một cái kết rõ ràng ra cho bất cứ hướng suy luận nào của khán giả, vì nó bắt bộ não của khán giả không chỉ làm việc liên tục khi xem phim mà còn làm việc cả khi đã ra khỏi rạp.
Nói chung, cá nhân mình thấy đây là một bộ phim xuất sắc nếu bạn không xem nó với suy nghĩ thông thường và những kỳ vọng thông thường. Hãy nhìn nó với một ánh mắt khác, bạn sẽ thấy nó quá tuyệt vời.

The local cineplex in my place is holding a contest on “draw a dragon from your imagination” to open a gallery on the premiere of the movie “How to train your dragon 3-D” on April 23rd.
So this is my submitted entry for the contest, was done with colored pencil, black marker and technical pen. This was chosen from a lot of sketches, and it turned out pretty well. Hoping ya’ll like it.
Can’t wait to see How to train your dragon, heard it’s awesome.

Site Patch Together này http://www.patchtogether.com/designs/woot-3165.html yêu cầu 1 số lượng vote minimum để quyết định có đưa một design nhân vật vào pre-order (đặt hàng trước) và sau đó đưa vào sản xuất thành figure toy (tượng, búp bê nhỏ) với số lượng phụ thuộc vào số lượng pre-order minimum mà khách hàng đặt mua trước đó.
