Thực sự mà nói, chỉ có những người bạn thực sự thân, tự sự gần gũi, và chơi với mình từ nhiều năm nay mới có thể hiểu được cái ước mơ này của mình nó như thế nào, và vì lý do gì nó là một thứ kinh khủng tới vậy. Đây sẽ chính là bước đầu tiên để mình tự tay xây dựng nên cái tương lai mà suốt cả cuộc đời mình mơ ước và vật vã.

Cảm ơn ấy vì gần 6 năm qua đã ở bên tớ. Cảm ơn vì tất cả những điều tuyệt vời bọn mình đã dành cho nhau. Cảm ơn vì đã cho tớ biết yêu, biết trân trọng, biết đau khổ. Cảm ơn vì đã giúp tớ vượt qua chính bản thân mình để đạt được những điều bản thân tớ ko thể nghĩ tới. Some one I just met. For the first cold wind of winter.

Took me around 12 hours of a lot of efforts since this is just the second Photoshop portrait I’ve ever done in my life, and the first female photoshop portrait too.

Clearly I don’t have much experience with kind of paintings, but I think it’s worth a try.

Spider-man Redesign

This was intended for a Spidey redesign contest from Project: Rooftop, but I missed the deadline badly since I was busy like crazy back then. Until now I have time and inspiration to finish this.

The idea is to give Peter a more realistic costume than the original one from the comics. I think this is the only way that a teenager can come up as his disguise when fighting for justice at midnight. I mean, how the hell a geek like Peter Parker can think of a tight suit? Seriously? And how can he climb walls with his fingers and feet covered by shoes and gloves? And a Jason-ish mask, in my opinion makes more sense.

All right, sorry for a long delay, I’ve been kept up by a lot of document work for the trip to the US. I’ll be there this January, any one of you expecting to see me? I’ll be in San Francisco for a course at the Academy of Art University.

Sneak Peak: 2011 Portfolio book full version

This is a peak look at my 2011 artbook/portfolio that I just got it printed to submit to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA, USA.

The book is hard cover, contains 132 pages in A4 size with lots of fan art, original art, character designs, sketches and sequential art that I’ve done for the last 3 years of freelancing.

There are only 2 prints were done for the submiting purpose, but I’m going to print another shorter version of the same book for self publishing in Vietnam.

The short/cut version will be soft cover, contains 84 pages in A4 size. The near 50 pages left out are mostly text pages and some not-so-important art work. There will be 40 prints will be made for this version for publishing only in Vietnam. May be I’ll find some way to publish it in the USA later when I come there.

Preview Artbook/Portfolio 2011 của mình. Đây là bản full 132 trang, in offset trên giấy couche, đóng bìa bồi cứng để submit sang bên trường và chỉ có 2 bản in.

Còn bản để bán (và tặng) sẽ có 84 trang (giảm bớt hơn 30 trang text và 1 số trang sketch ko quan trọng), cũng in offset trên giấy couche khổ A4, đóng bìa mềm, và sẽ có gần 40 bản in. Chất lượng 2 bản sẽ tương đương nhau. Bản để bán 84 trang có lẽ phải đợi khoảng gần 2 tuần nữa và sẽ có giá 320.000 vnđ/cuốn.

2011 Artbook

Tình hình là thế này, mình đang in một cuốn artbook (thật ra là portfolio cá nhân), tổng hợp rất nhiều tranh mình đã vẽ từ 3 năm trở lại đây (từ 2008), cả tranh rời, fan art, các dự án cá nhân, thiết kế nhân vật và cả một số trang ví dụ truyện tranh.

Ban đầu thì chỉ định in cá nhân thôi, nhưng vì thấy một số bạn bè trên facebook có ý muốn mua, nên mình đã tìm cách để in nhiều hơn 1 chút để bán cho các bạn với giá thấp nhất có thể, tất nhiên mình biết là dù thế nào cũng khó mà lên được con số 100 (nếu lên đến số này thì sẽ in offset được, sẽ rẻ hơn in phun thường rất nhiều), nên đã cố tìm đủ mọi cách để hạ tối đa giá thành xuống để mọi người có thể mua được. Cụ thể như sau:

Super Bat Hulk

Yes, you didn’t read it wrong, it really IS Super Bat Hulk. Another freaking crazy Mash-up art I came up with last week. You all can recognize what these came from.

Here’s the story for ya:

“Bruce El was born on planet Kryptopolis into a honorable scientists family. His parents discovered a terrible treason scheme against the whole planet, which was planned by the military based robot – Abranimation. Unfortunately, just before they had a chance to alert the planet’s leaders, they were assasinated in a small alley, right in front of 10-year-old Bruce. Kryptopolis was annihilated right away by Abranimation with his terrifying power.

Yet Bruce El was saved by his auto-activated protecting device planted on his clothes by his parents to provide against any bad situation may come, then landed on Earth. Radioa-active effectivity from the explosion of Kryptopolis gave Bruce El special power when on Earth. Everytime his heart beat reaches above 200 beats per minutes, he’ll become a giant creature with incredible physical power, the ability to fly, invunerable, heat vision, freezing breathe and super hearing.

He was adopted by Thomas Kent and Martha Banner – a billionaire couple on Earth. Changing his name into Bruce Kent, he’s spent the rest of his life on Earth to study and research, continue his biological parents’ incompleted project, and find Abrainimation.

Thanks to his amazing intelligence, plus the huge legacy inherited from his adopted parents, Bruce successed to finish the project, and found out the next target of Abrainimation: Earth.

With the help from the female housekeeper and lover – Betty Pennyross, could Bruce El aka Super Bat Hulk, stop this annihilation from Abrainimation, and protect his second home planet – Earth?”

Bruce El sinh ra trên hành tinh Kryptopolis trong một gia đình khoa học gia danh giá. Bố mẹ của Bruce đã khám phá ra âm mưu phản bội và tiêu diệt toàn bộ hành tinh của robot Abrainimation do quân đội tạo ra. Nhưng chưa kịp thông báo điều này với những nhà lãnh đạo của cả hành tinh thì họ đã bị ám sát trong một con hẻm nhỏ, ngay trước mặt Bruce, khi đó mới 10 tuổi. Hành tinh Kryptopolis ngay sau đó đã bị Abrainimation bằng sức mạnh khủng khiếp của mình, hủy diệt.

Nhưng riêng Bruce El, nhờ được cha mẹ chuẩn bị một hệ thống tự bảo vệ ngay trên quần áo, đã thoát chết và đáp xuống Trái Đất. Với sự giúp đỡ của nữ quản gia kiêm người yêu Betty Pennyross, liệu Bruce El, hay còn gọi là Super Bat Hulk, có thể ngăn chặn được sự hủy diệt của Abrainimation và bảo vệ quê hương thứ 2 – Trái Đất của anh hay không?

Naruto

No, no “cool” title today. I’ve just met too much bad luck for one day.

But this picture is something I’ve always wanted to do. It’s been a while since the last time I’ve ever did a manga fan art. And Naruto used to be one of the most favourite ones of mine. I dropped the manga right after Jiraya died, it started to be boring at that point.

First Class

Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy as Magneto/Erik Lensherr and Professor X/Charles Xavier from X-men: First Class.

I rarely do black and white art (actually, almost never), but when I do,…. I do it for fun. Haha sorry for the bad joke. But yes, the 2 amazing actors were incredibly at portraying 2 legendary comic characters. I really enjoy the movie so much and hope that the next X-movies will be as good as this one, especially The Wolverine.

And of course for the fan girls, there were a lot of hints about a “bromance” between Charles and Erik. Hope you’ll enjoy this. Thank you.

Captain Thor Lantern

This summer, there are 4 different superhero movies: X-men: First Class, Green Lantern, Thor and Captain America. What if you don’t have enough money to go to the cinema and see all of them? What if you think 4 superhero movies are too much for one summer?

Don’t worry, that’s why I’m bringing you all 4 of the mentioned superhero above into only ONE MOVIE, with only ONE SUPERHERO.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I’d like to introduce to you the CAPTAIN THOR LANTERN – PROTECTOR OF EARTH.

“Erik Rogers is a 25-year-old guy, was born when humanity is evolved to a stage that everybody is big and tall and strong. But by a strange mutation, he is only 1.45 meter tall. When the war began, Erik tried multiple times to enlist into the army and failed because of his small and weak body. Disappointed of himself, he drived to the forrest and found a dying blonde and big man. He said he came from a planet called Oasgard and gave Erik a strange ring “You’re chosen to be one of the Gods of the Universe, who are called the Thor Lantern, and your task is to protect the Earth”. He put on the ring and recognized himself becoming taller, bigger and a lot stronger, and with the lightning power of the ring, he can turn his thoughts into reality, a lightning hammer for example. But, right when he still didn’t figure out what was happening, he was kidnapped by a division of the government and recruited to the frontline and fight against the Red Loki, stopping him from taking over the world. And that’s how Captain Thor Lantern was born.”

Yes, I’m in quite a mash-up mood, and it’s so much fun doing stuffs like this. I’m sure gonna do more mash-up.

Clash of the Titans

No, it’s not either any of the 2 famous movies. This is exactly what I had in my mind when I went out of the cinema after watching Megamind.

I totally dig Metroman so much that I want him to have a fight with Mr. Incredible so bad. It’ll be one damn awesome fight. One represents the “Oscar” guys from Pixar, the other one fight for the guys who never get the Oscar. Right? Who else want to see a fight like this happens?

Yeah, and Megamind’s gonna enjoy this fight too. Totally.

Monkey King in Space

Well the idea is pretty simple: What happens if the Monkey King finds out there’s no Heaven above, but the Universe instead?

Like I said before, I was in a “chimp” mood, so I drew a lot of monkeys lately, and this one is one of them – the most famous monkey of them all – The Monkey King from “Journey to the West”. It’s a shame that he’s Chinese – ancestor of the guys who’s invading Vietnamese sea and islands. But oh well, art is art, politics only polute it.

Master Monkey

Master Monkey from Kungfu Panda. I really dig both the 2 movies, but I didn’t get to show my respect to one of the best franchises to date from Dream Works. Now here it is. I was in some kind of drawing chimps mood, so here it is, our Jackie Chan in the appearance of Master Monkey – Furious Five – Kungfu Panda.

I was trying to do one with Po and Tigress but guess I was too amateur for such great characters, but I’ll try again, gonna worth it.

Annataz

She spells it all backwards, right?
I just re-watch the wonderful animated show Justice League/Justice League Unlimited from the great Bruce Timm and have been on a JL-hype lately. I’ve drawn a lot of JL art for my portfolio too, and even more to come. I’ve been planning on making an artbook for myself, I don’t know if you guys are interested. But I’d hold that thought.

Zatanna was one of the most beautiful and sexy superheroines ever created. And this pic gave me some little more experiences too.

Just swingin’

Just swingin’ around and be a spider, that’s all.

This supposed to be huge and has a lot of details, until I found it take too much work, since I didn’t have the enough time and effort for it. And I found the best way to complete it with less work to do, and well, it’s now just a little quicky.

This explores more on the camera angle, perspective for the background. And I think it came out pretty good.

Just Beamin’

Yeah, just a quick doodle to beam my new way of lines and styles and vice versa. This one is typical. Dang I really am too much into Iron Man that every time I start a doodle, I draw him. But not all of the the doodles came out as good as I expected.

This one, on the other hand, made me feel pretty good, and I threw some colors in to relax from the big Justice League one I’m working on.

Rockman and Green Lantern

One of 2 Megaman tribute works that I did 2 months ago but wasn’t chosen by Udon Crew, probably because of the lame idea.

Well, that’s ok since I wasn’t anything like a big fan of the game or the character (I didn’t get to play much games when I was a boy, especially games like Megaman).

However, I still like what I came out with this, probably because of my obsession with TRON: Legacy at that time. Hope whoever is a fan of Megaman wouldn’t throw rocks at me.

Green Lantern is coming, I don’t know why people are bashing it, I think it’s awesome. Ryan Reynolds is a great choice.

This is a small fan art base on the design of the movie, of course with some changes to fit my taste. Just to warm up my style after such a long time drawing children comic.

I’m gonna be back with the whole gang of the JLA. Wait for more.

Emperor Hung Vuong

There are a lot more, but I can’t show it online yet, before I can find a way to publish it as a story art book..

Emperor Hung Vuong the 18th – one of the first men to rule Vietnam in the ancient time. His beautiful daughter Mi Nuong was at the age of marriage and he wanted her to have an appropriate husband. That was when Son Tinh and Thuy Tinh – the 2 mighty Gods of the country at that time – came for a competition.

I’ve met a lot of difficulties in the process of this project, but I think I’ll overcome them and manage to finish the book. Hope to get as much supports as possible from you guys. Thank you very much.
