Vietnamese fishermen have been threatened by Chinese surveillance ships and fishing boat recently.
China declared that it owns 80 percent of East Sea, which has also been claimed by Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Brunei and Vietnam.
We, Vietnamese citizens, assert that Hoang Sa and Truong Sa – those parts we own sovereignly, belong to Vietnam.
We do not claim all the Paracel islands and Spratly islands are ours. We respect the sovereignty of our neighbors such as Philippine and Malaysia.
We do want to solve the problems peacefully and fairly.”
