This is a peak look at my 2011 artbook/portfolio that I just got it printed to submit to the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA, USA.
The book is hard cover, contains 132 pages in A4 size with lots of fan art, original art, character designs, sketches and sequential art that I’ve done for the last 3 years of freelancing.
There are only 2 prints were done for the submiting purpose, but I’m going to print another shorter version of the same book for self publishing in Vietnam.
The short/cut version will be soft cover, contains 84 pages in A4 size. The near 50 pages left out are mostly text pages and some not-so-important art work. There will be 40 prints will be made for this version for publishing only in Vietnam. May be I’ll find some way to publish it in the USA later when I come there.

Preview Artbook/Portfolio 2011 của mình. Đây là bản full 132 trang, in offset trên giấy couche, đóng bìa bồi cứng để submit sang bên trường và chỉ có 2 bản in.
Còn bản để bán (và tặng) sẽ có 84 trang (giảm bớt hơn 30 trang text và 1 số trang sketch ko quan trọng), cũng in offset trên giấy couche khổ A4, đóng bìa mềm, và sẽ có gần 40 bản in. Chất lượng 2 bản sẽ tương đương nhau. Bản để bán 84 trang có lẽ phải đợi khoảng gần 2 tuần nữa và sẽ có giá 320.000 vnđ/cuốn.
Một mùa phim bom tấn vừa mới kết thúc. Trong hành trang phim ảnh của các mọt phim có thêm những gì?
Đã từ lâu, mùa hè là thời điểm “vàng” để Hollywood gây “lụt” các rạp chiếu phim trên toàn thế giới với liên tiếp các bom tấn điện ảnh đắt giá trên mọi phương diện: cả từ kỹ xảo choáng ngợp, vốn đầu tư khủng, diễn viên đình đám, bối cảnh hoành tráng… Nhưng cũng vì số lượng hùng hậu như vậy, rất khó để tránh khỏi việc có những quả “bom xịt” lọt vào bên cạnh những siêu phẩm chất lượng khác.
Cũng như mọi năm, hè 2011 chính là thời điểm bùng nổ và cạnh tranh khốc liệt của hàng loạt “quả bom” điện ảnh vốn đã được những người đam mê điện ảnh mong chờ từ rất lâu. Hãy cùng nhìn lại một mùa hè “đầy khói lửa” này một chút nhé.
Yes, you didn’t read it wrong, it really IS Super Bat Hulk. Another freaking crazy Mash-up art I came up with last week. You all can recognize what these came from.
Here’s the story for ya:
“Bruce El was born on planet Kryptopolis into a honorable scientists family. His parents discovered a terrible treason scheme against the whole planet, which was planned by the military based robot – Abranimation. Unfortunately, just before they had a chance to alert the planet’s leaders, they were assasinated in a small alley, right in front of 10-year-old Bruce. Kryptopolis was annihilated right away by Abranimation with his terrifying power.
Yet Bruce El was saved by his auto-activated protecting device planted on his clothes by his parents to provide against any bad situation may come, then landed on Earth. Radioa-active effectivity from the explosion of Kryptopolis gave Bruce El special power when on Earth. Everytime his heart beat reaches above 200 beats per minutes, he’ll become a giant creature with incredible physical power, the ability to fly, invunerable, heat vision, freezing breathe and super hearing.
He was adopted by Thomas Kent and Martha Banner – a billionaire couple on Earth. Changing his name into Bruce Kent, he’s spent the rest of his life on Earth to study and research, continue his biological parents’ incompleted project, and find Abrainimation.
Thanks to his amazing intelligence, plus the huge legacy inherited from his adopted parents, Bruce successed to finish the project, and found out the next target of Abrainimation: Earth.
With the help from the female housekeeper and lover – Betty Pennyross, could Bruce El aka Super Bat Hulk, stop this annihilation from Abrainimation, and protect his second home planet – Earth?”

Bruce El sinh ra trên hành tinh Kryptopolis trong một gia đình khoa học gia danh giá. Bố mẹ của Bruce đã khám phá ra âm mưu phản bội và tiêu diệt toàn bộ hành tinh của robot Abrainimation do quân đội tạo ra. Nhưng chưa kịp thông báo điều này với những nhà lãnh đạo của cả hành tinh thì họ đã bị ám sát trong một con hẻm nhỏ, ngay trước mặt Bruce, khi đó mới 10 tuổi. Hành tinh Kryptopolis ngay sau đó đã bị Abrainimation bằng sức mạnh khủng khiếp của mình, hủy diệt.
Nhưng riêng Bruce El, nhờ được cha mẹ chuẩn bị một hệ thống tự bảo vệ ngay trên quần áo, đã thoát chết và đáp xuống Trái Đất. Phóng xạ từ vụ nổ phá hủy hành tinh Kryptopolis đã khiến cho Bruce El khi tới Trái Đất có sức mạnh đặc biệt. Mỗi khi nhịp tim của Bruce tăng lên hơn 200 lần/phút, anh sẽ biến thành một sinh vật khổng lồ có sức mạnh cơ bắp khủng khiếp, biết bay, da thịt bất khả bị thương, bắn ra tia nhiệt từ mắt, hơi thở siêu lạnh và thính giác vượt trội.
Ở Trái Đất Bruce đã được Thomas Kent và Martha Banner – 2 tỉ phú, nhận nuôi. Đổi tên thành Bruce Kent, cả cuộc đời ở Trái Đất, anh đã không ngừng học tập, nghiên cứu để tiếp tục công trình dang dở của bố mẹ, tìm kiếm Abrainimation.
Nhờ có trí thông minh vượt trội, cộng với việc được thừa kế gia tài đồ sộ của cha mẹ nuôi để lại, Bruce đã thành công trong việc tiếp tục công trình của cha mẹ và tìm ra âm mưu tiếp theo của Abrainimation: Tiêu Diệt Trái Đất.
Với sự giúp đỡ của nữ quản gia kiêm người yêu Betty Pennyross, liệu Bruce El, hay còn gọi là Super Bat Hulk, có thể ngăn chặn được sự hủy diệt của Abrainimation và bảo vệ quê hương thứ 2 – Trái Đất của anh hay không?
Vậy là tớ đã xem Captain America: The First Avenger 2 lần, có lẽ đã đến lúc viết đôi lời về bộ phim cực đã này.
Đầu tiên, tớ phải cảnh báo rằng đây ko phải loại phim đầy trí tưởng tượng kiểu fantasy hay sci-fi như Thor hay Iron Man, cũng ko phải kiểu phim đập phá với sức mạnh khủng khiếp như Hulk. Đây chỉ là câu chuyện về 1 anh chàng bé nhỏ trở nên mạnh mẽ và to lớn hơn nhờ 1 huyết thanh giúp anh ta đạt đến cực hạn khả năng của cơ thể con người mà thôi. Điều này có nghĩa là sẽ không có những cảnh hàng động hoành tráng với công nghệ siêu cao hay phép thuật hay quái vật khổng lồ choảng nhau. Thế nên nếu bạn đang chờ đợi một bộ phim như vậy, bạn sẽ bị thất vọng nặng đấy.
Một điều nữa, trong review này tớ sẽ không viết theo kiểu khách quan, vì ai thèm xem một cái review khách quan chứ? Một cái review mà hoàn toàn không có cảm quan, suy nghĩ cá nhân, đối với tớ là 1 cái review nhạt nhẽo. Hơn nữa, tớ là một thằng geek phim siêu anh hùng, và tớ thích hầu hết các phim siêu anh hùng (thậm chí là 2 phim Fantastic Four, nếu bạn cần biết geek độ nào).
Anh em nào đi xem Captain America ở Platinum Cineplex, TTTM The Garden, Mễ Trì, Từ Liêm, Hà Nội có thể sẽ thấy tranh này của tớ được treo ngay trước cửa phòng chiếu số 4 nhé.

I’ve always wonder, what the hell are they “avenging” for? Who is it needs to get “avenge”. It really gave the translator in my place a hard time translating that word. Oh well.
So, this is a picture I did around 3 weeks ago, and now it’s being hanged on the wall at the Platinum Cinema Complex, The Garden Mall, Hanoi, Vietnam, you can see it right before you go into Cinema 4.
I have seen the movie, it was wicked awesome!!! The action, the humor, the actors and actresses, and the visual effects are all amazing and entertaining. Hugo Weaving and Chris Evans did their job justice, now I don’t really know how to view the 2 characters differently. Especially Evans, he was AWESOME!!! The shield throws are badass!
What I can say is you guys should go see it right now, and don’t forget to stay until the ending credit ends, you’ll get to see one of the most badass things on the world – the Teaser Trailer for The Avengers 2012!

I rarely do black and white art (actually, almost never), but when I do,…. I do it for fun. Haha sorry for the bad joke. But yes, the 2 amazing actors were incredibly at portraying 2 legendary comic characters. I really enjoy the movie so much and hope that the next X-movies will be as good as this one, especially The Wolverine.
And of course for the fan girls, there were a lot of hints about a “bromance” between Charles and Erik. Hope you’ll enjoy this. Thank you.
This summer, there are 4 different superhero movies: X-men: First Class, Green Lantern, Thor and Captain America. What if you don’t have enough money to go to the cinema and see all of them? What if you think 4 superhero movies are too much for one summer?
Don’t worry, that’s why I’m bringing you all 4 of the mentioned superhero above into only ONE MOVIE, with only ONE SUPERHERO.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I’d like to introduce to you the CAPTAIN THOR LANTERN – PROTECTOR OF EARTH.
“Erik Rogers is a 25-year-old guy, was born when humanity is evolved to a stage that everybody is big and tall and strong. But by a strange mutation, he is only 1.45 meter tall. When the war began, Erik tried multiple times to enlist into the army and failed because of his small and weak body. Disappointed of himself, he drived to the forrest and found a dying blonde and big man. He said he came from a planet called Oasgard and gave Erik a strange ring “You’re chosen to be one of the Gods of the Universe, who are called the Thor Lantern, and your task is to protect the Earth”. He put on the ring and recognized himself becoming taller, bigger and a lot stronger, and with the lightning power of the ring, he can turn his thoughts into reality, a lightning hammer for example. But, right when he still didn’t figure out what was happening, he was kidnapped by a division of the government and recruited to the frontline and fight against the Red Loki, stopping him from taking over the world. And that’s how Captain Thor Lantern was born.”
Yes, I’m in quite a mash-up mood, and it’s so much fun doing stuffs like this. I’m sure gonna do more mash-up.
