I promised that I would do a detailed and spoilery review of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, so this is it. If you haven’t seen the movie, stay away from this review as far as possible.
Before I begin, I’m gonna get it out of my chest that this movie is suffering from what I would call “Internet Extremism”. The critics when given too much power when they judge something on the internet went way too far with their reviews, and with that influencing a huge amount of fans and audience to be overly and unreasonably harsh on the movie. I personally have read a lot of critiques on what make the movie bad, and while some of them are fair, a lot of professional reviewers from the press (rottentomatoes, imbd, metacritics, etc) gave the movie the absolutely questionable score of 1/10 or 1/5, together with words like “mess”, “garbage”, “trash”, etc. I’m gonna go ahead and say up front that if you have even a tiny amount of respect for the craft of cinema itself, or if you’re actually a serious and professional critic with just a little knowledge of movie making, you’ll realize and appreciate all the great things that Zack Snyder achieved with this movie, even if you don’t like it. Because cinematically speaking, the movie has done some fantastic work which I’ll mention.
After 3 months of the summer animating from time to time gradually, I finally finished this short animation test for the characters from DC Comics’ Justice League for personal practice. I set for myself a time limit of approximately 5 seconds to show all the powers of each character, including: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), Hawk Girl, and Martian Manhunter.
The images of the characters are a little bit different from the character designs because I simplified them a little bit for the sake of animating them easier. This time I got for myself a lot of useful and interesting experience from animating these, more than the last time with The Avengers (watch here www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnTNer… )
The song in this is the Justice League Animated Series Theme Song.
These are done with Photoshop CS and Adobe After Effects. All characters belong to DC Comics, and this animation was done only for educational purpose, no commercial use.
Đi xem cùng 1 đám nerd bạn người Mỹ, xem xong chúng nó chê lên chê xuống, nhưng mình thì thích phim này vô cùng, và chắc chắn là sẽ xem lại vài lần nữa bằng IMAX. Cái này đặt gạch viết vài câu, còn review phân tích kỹ dài dòng thì để cuối tuần.
Quá tuyệt vời, phim này chính là phim Superman mà mình mong đợi suốt từ thời Christopher Reeve. Hình ảnh tuyệt vời, diễn viên tuyệt vời, dẫn chuyện tuyệt vời, hành động tuyệt vời. Phim không phải là không có nhiều lỗi logic, và phạm phải 1 số điều khá nguy hiểm đụng chạm tới fan boy, nhưng với những gì phim mang lại thì mình cho là những cái đấy không quan trọng và thưởng thức phim một cách hết sức sướng.

Sunday At The Park is a short-comic project I’ve been working on for the last 4 months. The writer Jesse Young (http://writejessewrite.wordpress.com/) wrote the script based on the poem “Casey At The Bat” by Ernest Thayer, and hired me for the job, when he thought my drawing style fits the story the best.
I decided to
use this script in my final assignment for the Perspective class by Joko Budiono that I took last semester at the AAU and it paid off well. But not until now I got the time to finish the colors and let the professional letterer Thomas Mauer (http://www.thomasmauer.com/) to blow his magic into it.
So here it is, the first short-comic that I’ve ever felt really satisfied with.

Sunday At The Park là 1 truyện tranh ngắn mình làm trong suốt 4 tháng qua. Tác giả kịch bản Jesse Young viết cái này dựa trên bài thơ “Casey At The Bat” bởi Ernest Thayer, và thuê mình vẽ, vì ông ý nghĩ là phong cách của mình phù hợp.
Mình quyết định sử dụng kịch bản này cho bài tập cuối kỳ môn Phối Cảnh của thầy Joko Budiono mà mình học kỳ trước ở trường AAU, và kết quả khá khả quan. Nhưng mà tận bây giờ mới có thời gian để tô màu và gửi cho người sắp chữ chuyên nghiệp Thomas Mauer làm việc của mình.
Đây, truyện ngắn đầu tiên mà mình cảm thấy thỏa mãn :P.
Yes, you didn’t read it wrong, it really IS Super Bat Hulk. Another freaking crazy Mash-up art I came up with last week. You all can recognize what these came from.
Here’s the story for ya:
“Bruce El was born on planet Kryptopolis into a honorable scientists family. His parents discovered a terrible treason scheme against the whole planet, which was planned by the military based robot – Abranimation. Unfortunately, just before they had a chance to alert the planet’s leaders, they were assasinated in a small alley, right in front of 10-year-old Bruce. Kryptopolis was annihilated right away by Abranimation with his terrifying power.
Yet Bruce El was saved by his auto-activated protecting device planted on his clothes by his parents to provide against any bad situation may come, then landed on Earth. Radioa-active effectivity from the explosion of Kryptopolis gave Bruce El special power when on Earth. Everytime his heart beat reaches above 200 beats per minutes, he’ll become a giant creature with incredible physical power, the ability to fly, invunerable, heat vision, freezing breathe and super hearing.
He was adopted by Thomas Kent and Martha Banner – a billionaire couple on Earth. Changing his name into Bruce Kent, he’s spent the rest of his life on Earth to study and research, continue his biological parents’ incompleted project, and find Abrainimation.
Thanks to his amazing intelligence, plus the huge legacy inherited from his adopted parents, Bruce successed to finish the project, and found out the next target of Abrainimation: Earth.
With the help from the female housekeeper and lover – Betty Pennyross, could Bruce El aka Super Bat Hulk, stop this annihilation from Abrainimation, and protect his second home planet – Earth?”

Bruce El sinh ra trên hành tinh Kryptopolis trong một gia đình khoa học gia danh giá. Bố mẹ của Bruce đã khám phá ra âm mưu phản bội và tiêu diệt toàn bộ hành tinh của robot Abrainimation do quân đội tạo ra. Nhưng chưa kịp thông báo điều này với những nhà lãnh đạo của cả hành tinh thì họ đã bị ám sát trong một con hẻm nhỏ, ngay trước mặt Bruce, khi đó mới 10 tuổi. Hành tinh Kryptopolis ngay sau đó đã bị Abrainimation bằng sức mạnh khủng khiếp của mình, hủy diệt.
Nhưng riêng Bruce El, nhờ được cha mẹ chuẩn bị một hệ thống tự bảo vệ ngay trên quần áo, đã thoát chết và đáp xuống Trái Đất. Phóng xạ từ vụ nổ phá hủy hành tinh Kryptopolis đã khiến cho Bruce El khi tới Trái Đất có sức mạnh đặc biệt. Mỗi khi nhịp tim của Bruce tăng lên hơn 200 lần/phút, anh sẽ biến thành một sinh vật khổng lồ có sức mạnh cơ bắp khủng khiếp, biết bay, da thịt bất khả bị thương, bắn ra tia nhiệt từ mắt, hơi thở siêu lạnh và thính giác vượt trội.
Ở Trái Đất Bruce đã được Thomas Kent và Martha Banner – 2 tỉ phú, nhận nuôi. Đổi tên thành Bruce Kent, cả cuộc đời ở Trái Đất, anh đã không ngừng học tập, nghiên cứu để tiếp tục công trình dang dở của bố mẹ, tìm kiếm Abrainimation.
Nhờ có trí thông minh vượt trội, cộng với việc được thừa kế gia tài đồ sộ của cha mẹ nuôi để lại, Bruce đã thành công trong việc tiếp tục công trình của cha mẹ và tìm ra âm mưu tiếp theo của Abrainimation: Tiêu Diệt Trái Đất.
Với sự giúp đỡ của nữ quản gia kiêm người yêu Betty Pennyross, liệu Bruce El, hay còn gọi là Super Bat Hulk, có thể ngăn chặn được sự hủy diệt của Abrainimation và bảo vệ quê hương thứ 2 – Trái Đất của anh hay không?
