Brave

Someone suggested me to draw a Brave fan art the other day. And I did it. I rarely draw any Pixar/Disney’s fan art since they have perfect designs for the characters already, any attempt at recreating those marvels into my own style is not worth it. But then again, drawing is fun.

Animation: Justice League

Facebook: www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=1…

After 3 months of the summer animating from time to time gradually, I finally finished this short animation test for the characters from DC Comics’ Justice League for personal practice. I set for myself a time limit of approximately 5 seconds to show all the powers of each character, including: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), Hawk Girl, and Martian Manhunter.

The images of the characters are a little bit different from the character designs because I simplified them a little bit for the sake of animating them easier. This time I got for myself a lot of useful and interesting experience from animating these, more than the last time with The Avengers (watch here www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnTNer… )

The song in this is the Justice League Animated Series Theme Song.

These are done with Photoshop CS and Adobe After Effects. All characters belong to DC Comics, and this animation was done only for educational purpose, no commercial use.

Tomb Raider

I actually never play any game, but I’ve been trying to open my drawing topics outside my comfort zone a little bit. And in the occasion of the new Lara Croft reboot with a pretty neat design, I threw out some spins on it with the combination with her traditional braided pony tail.

SONTINH-1 Upgraded

Still SONTINH-1, the anti-Kaiju Jaeger from Vietnam (inspired by Pacific Rim), but this time with some slight updates on the outside (some more yellow plates), and this time the background is Sai Gon with Bitexco Financial tower from afar.

SONTINH-1 (Pacific Rim inspired)

Please meet SONTINH-1 – the Vietnamese Jaeger in the Kaiju War on the Red River with Long Bien bridge across. SONTINH-1 was made by the Vietnamese People’s Army with the technical help from Russia and Japan, is a 3rd Generation Jaeger, and has helped the Pacific area Jaeger teams like CRIMSON TYPHOON from China and COYOTE TANGO from Japan fight Kaijus. Unfortunately, SONTINH-1 was taken down in the last year of the war, right before the event in Pacific Rim, by one of the category 4 Kaijus – which was a lot terrifying than previous ones.

(Instead of going to their website and automatic generating a Jaeger from already existed ones from the movie, I prefer to draw like this. The picture was drawn inspired by giant robots Jaegers from the movie Pacific Rim).

Launched!!! CLICK HERE TO GO TO THE CAMPAIGN PAGE, DONATE AND SHARE IT PLEASE!!!http://igg.me/at/hahuyhoang2012/x/3441554Finally, after a few weeks of preparation, I now can finally launch my fundraising campaign on Indiegogo for my newest art book: The 2012 Art of Ha Huy Hoang “Splendid River”. This art book is a collection of the best illustrations of mine during the last year 2012: my fan art, my illustrations, my personal projects, comics, and quick sketches, plus a lot of exclusive pieces that I’ve never posted on the internet, and never will. This book will be 46 pages, soft cover, perfect bound with high quality glossy paper, 10 x 8 inches landscape, and a perfect collection of my artwork. I couldn’t be more proud of this book.

With this campaign, I hope to spread my name out there into the world. As a starting artist, any support to the campaign will be greatly appreciated, and it’ll be a great encouragement for me to keep working and producing great art, as well as train myself to be a better artist.

Thank you so much for your support and your consideration, and know that what you will receive if you help support this book isn’t just my art, but my life, my inspiration, and accumulation of everything that I have in me to find my place in this world.

If you’re not able to contribute with money, you can always help me by spreading the word about my campaign. Share it with your friends, your families, using any kind of social network you’re on, and also the sharing tools from indiegogo. I appreciate every share you put on facebook, twitter, tumblr, google plus,… anything, every little bit helps. And for that I thank you.

A BIG thank you to Mr. Matt Harding for lending me a hand in putting this campaign together and is going to work with me through out the end.

Avengers Wars

Well, lame title, I know. It’s for another challenge from the Comic book club at my school – Academy of Art University. This time is to put Super heroes into a movie poster. I used The Avengers to put into the original Star Wars movie poster.

Chester Flame Hands

Chester Bennington from Linkin Park as a superhero with flaming hands, since his flaming tattoos on his arms. A challenge from the comic book club at my school, to make a rocker into a super hero.

Beast

Drawing for Project: rooftop Fan art Friday, but I missed the deadline by around 20 minutes, I hope they’ll still post it. This might be the first time I’ve ever done a Beast.
